KTAG KESS KTM BDM adapter Full Set is an electronic circuit intended for BDM operation on supported ECU. The adapter provides pogo pin based connectors for interfacing the ECU BDM connector. So, how to use DM adapters with Ktag Kess KTM100 Dimsport?

Steps outlined below describe a safe procedure when connecting and powering up the setup. Always be sure to provide the ECU power (from either tool or external source) after the adapter has been secured in a desired position - touching the ECU BDM pads. This will prevent you from short circuiting the setup.

  1. Open the ECU
  • at least one part of the casing (top or bottom) needs to be removed
  • refer to other sources (Internet) to get information on which part needs removing on your

ECU

  1. Locate the ECU BDM connector
  • usually a set of 10 - 12 pads in two rows (depending on the ECU)
  • pads may be 2.54 mm or 1.27 mm apart (depending on the ECU)
  • rows may be 2.54 mm or 5.08 mm apart (depending on the ECU)
  • if the ECU BDM connector can not be located, chances are that the BDM pads are scattered

all over the ECU PCB in which case you can not use the adapter directly - nevertheless it is

possible to manually route the adapter BDM signals to the ECU BDM pads (only for

advanced users)

  1. Locate the ECU BDM pin 1 position
  • pin 1 is usually not clearly marked on the ECU BDM pin out
  • on an ECU with the standard Motorola BDM pin out pins 3 and 5 are connected to ground -

this can be checked either visually or using a multimeter tool

  • refer to other sources (Internet) to get more information on the pin 1 position for your ECU
  1. Place the desired adapter in the frame saddle
  • make sure the pogo pins are facing out
  • lift the saddle so that the ECU can be slided under the frame adapter saddle
  1. Place the ECU on the frame
  • inspect the adapter for pogo pin 1 location which is clearly marked
  • rotate the ECU on the frame so that the adapter pogo pin 1 and ECU BDM pin 1 match
  • make sure ECU is firmly sitting on the frame
  • double check the ECU position
  1. Connect the multiplexer board and adapter
  • at this point multiplexer board should be connected to the adapter via MUX connector
  • this will allow LEDs on the adapter to illuminate the area of interest (where the pogo pins

need to touch the ECU BDM pads)

  • do not connect the tool yet
  1. Connect the external power (+12 V) to the multiplexer
  • multiplexer external power is used to power the LEDs on the adapter allowing easier

positioning of the adapter pogo pins on the ECU BDM pads

  • red LED on multiplexer board will light up when external power (+12 V) is present
  • at this point the white LEDs on the adapter should also light up
  • do not connect the tool yet
  1. Fine tune the ECU position
  • lower the frame adapter saddle to almost touch the ECU BDM pads
  • each adapter pogo pin needs to sit on a separate ECU BDM pad
  • if pogo pins do not sit on the pads you may be using the wrong adapter - do not use the

adapter in this case!

  1. Lower the frame adapter saddle
  • each adapter pogo pin should sit on one ECU BDM pad
  • minimum down force should be applied when making the interconnection between the

adapter and ECU

  1. Double check the adapter pogo pin and ECU BDM pad interconnection
  • in order not to damage the ECU and/or tool make sure that the steps above have been

performed correctly

  1. Connect the tool to the multiplexer board
  • only connect one tool at any given moment to the multiplexer
  • make sure to use the correct 10-pin IDC connector (FGTECH, XPROG, BDM100&KTAG)

for interfacing the tool used:

○ use provided 10-pin to 10-pin cable with FGTECH or BDM100 tools

○ use provided 10-pin to 16-pin cable with XPROG tool

○ use manufacturer 10-pin to 25-pin cable with KTAG tool

  • do not connect the tool to the 10-pin IDC connector labeled MUX
  • do not power up the tool yet
  1. For Bosch adapteronly
  • Bosch ECUs need to have ECU power supplied on the pogo pins (2 and 9)
  • some tools provide dedicated ECU power (BDM100, KTAG) while others do not

(XPROG, FGTECH)

  • Bosch adapter can be used in both cases, providing that the jumper is properly placed on

the 3-pin header (found on the adapter)

  • place the jumper on the adapter on the 3-pin header to the correct position:

○ place jumper over left and central pins when using XPROG and FGTECH tools - this will use +12 V power delivered from the multiplexer board (external power) for powering the ECU

○ place jumper over right and central pins when using BDM100 or KTAG tools - this will use

+12 V power delivered by the tool for powering the ECU

  1. For Siemens, Delphi and Marelli adapters only
  • Siemens, Delphi and Marelli do not provide ECU power on the pogo pins
  • in order to power the ECU +12 V and ground signals needs to be connected to the ECU separately (usually over the ECU interfacing connector)
  • in this case ECU power can be taken from multiplexer board connectors J2 (+12 V) and J3 (ground), otherwise provide the +12 V ECU power from additional source
  • refer to other sources (Internet) to get more information on the location of the +12 V and

ground pin location for your ECU

  1. Connect the tool to the PC (or power up the tool)
  • perform software installation as described by the tool manufacturer if not done already
  • at this point the multiplexer, adapter and the ECU should be properly interconnected with

BDM signals and power lines

○ multiplexer red LED should be lit up

○ adapter white LEDs should be lit up

○ ECU power (+12 V) should be present

  • connect the tool to the PC (usually done over USB or serial connection)
  1. Perform BDM operation(s)
  • start up the software package to operate the tool
  • perform desired BDM operation(s)Note: This is used for reference; in fact, it depends. Try on your own risk.

FRAME

is a mechanical contraption used to fix the adapter for the BDM operation. It usually allows sliding

the adapter up and down to get it into contact with the ECU BDM connector.

MULTIPLEXER

is an electronic circuit board for interfacing any adapter through the 10-pin IDC connector (MUX)

with one of the supported BDM tools through the designated 10-pin IDC connector (FGTECH,

XPROG, BDM100&KTAG).

TOOL

is a third party piece of equipment used for BDM operation – supported tools include

1. Download and install IDS v100 program ,then must restart
2. install VX Driver VCM II 1.0.6.1224
3. Plug in the VXDiag let the system to detect and install drivers automatically,
4. run the IDS program
5. first time running the program it will pop out a column called " IDS Configure product", please choose "non dealer" in dealer type, and country you are, then click tick on the right

Mazda IDS installation guide for WIFI version:
1. Download and install IDS v100 program ,then must restart

3. install VX manager, and run it ( download from http://www.vxdiag.net/)

Mini Pro TL866A read/write 5P08C3ST95P08ST95080

Please write good and bad results of Super Mini Pro TL866A eeprom programmer programming 5P08C3 ST95P08 ST95080.

it is a good programmer for the price. read 5p08 many times no problem. If one manufacturer dies to work try another and so on.

I have this programmer, tll866, and I read 5p08c3 but I program on 95080 and put in edc15c2. No problem, 95080 works fine on edc15c2.

I get same error with this programmer. Dump read ok ,but when try to program after dump mod. I can’t write it. And if i read dump and don’t mod dump i can write it back.

This programmer it’s no good for 5p080. UPA it’s good for this eeprom.

Tried it with upa and xprog. Don’t read it at all. Reads all 00 FF 78
I mean with 95080 option.

5P08C3 i tried to read with TL866 and it read it wrong. Writing not possible.
I do it now with Xprog. It is cheaper to use the right tool than mess up the original dump...

I can say some history about this eeproms!
This eeprom is very sensitive with temperature you can become strange problemslike

Failed to program (write) 5P08C3 with TL866 (it is an immo off operation for Citroen Berlingo ECU Bosch EDC15c2)

With my Super Mini Pro TL866A I can read the chip as ST95080 but i can`t write it, or I don`t know how...
There are some option in the config region, I try it all ...but with same result.

Good tips for you if you fails to read:

First:Have you desolder eeprom from board?

It needs to be desoldered... and reading and writing attempts by an verified adapter

Second: Something wrong with your programmer?

Better test it with some other chips tocheck if it can read/write perfect, without any issue.

Third: You use correct adapter for ST95P08?

5P08C3 is ST95P08.both 5p08c3 and ST95P08 are out of production - they are 1999 models. The new equivalent one is ST95080 - it is the same chip with better data storage and capabilities.
Imagine that I am asking here after a long research on the internet about this problem.
The main opinion is that you can use TL866 for writing 5p08c3 as an 95080

Read CEM data with RN-01 board:

Plug K518ISE host, adapter, and RN-01 board:

Note: the new/old CEM box looks the same, but with different circuits.

For theold version of the CEM box:

when opening the lid, in the back of the circuit board, please pay attention to the black column with blue circles, which are the four positioning points that need to match stably with the white column of RN-01 board.

Note: The circuit board is coated with insulating glue, it is required to use the washing plate water to wash off the blue area of the insulation coating in the contact point (solder joint) , or power can not go through , if the needle of RN-01 board is broken, it will do to wire in the corresponding locations.

For the new version of the CEM box:

the circuit is different, which requires to wire to read the anti-theft data

Connect power to read the data

Separate RN-01 board to the motherboard to prevent it from conduction

Welding cable shouldn’t be more than 15cm

Step 2: Read the security data of the KVM module

Volvo's KVM modules are located after the rear box, in the upside of the right rear wheel position(for 16 S60L car, dismantle from the right rear door to the wheel direction);

Open the module cover

Use the washing plate water to wash off the blue area of the insulation coating, or power can not go through.

Read KVM data with FS-01 board:

The most important note:

To failures in Volvo KVM data reading (coz the chip model is different), please do as follows:

① Use programmer to read out the data (.bin file);

② Contact and send the EEPROM data to K518ISE after-sales service, the engineers will convert the data into a dedicated file;

③ Connect K518ISE with computer and put the dedicated file into "file ---> feature_35" folder;

④ Following the operations to select the KVM data from the process.

Step 3: Program smart keys via OBD

Refer to the following notes:

  1. For 6 keys, during operation, you need to firstly insert the key into the key slot and then operate by following the directions.
  2. For key recognition failure, please make sure the smart key is not locked, as locked key cannot be programmed, the fresh new key generally will not be locked.
  3. K518ISE has identification & unlock functions, which will test and identify whether a key is an unused one or not. If the remote control is invalid after the key is programmed (on condition that the battery is well installed and the remote control frequency is correct), try to import the CEM security data to unlock the key and then program again.

Note: Only the key of this car or corresponding car can be unlock after reading the CEM security data.

4,When installing Volvo battery, please note that the two batteries are placed in an overlap way and separated by a white paper in the middle, so please do not just replace the above one.

Dismantling is very simplealso , just remove the metal key, and gently pry with a not so sharp knife in the same place where the metal key lies.

1: OBD back up original coding data:

On the car or test platform, connect to FEM/BDC system, then back up original back up coding files via OBD

2: read out EEPROM backup data & generate a service-mode EEPROM:

-> Disassemble FEM/BDC module, find out chip 95128 or 95256, read EEPROM data using a ECU programming tool: VVDI-Prog, Orange5 and the like;

->Copy the EEPROM data into to the Lonsdor K518ISE customfile folder;

->Run the program, read original EEPROM data and generate a service-mode EEPROM, upload data of the service-mode EEPROM, write it into chip 95128 or 95256 with help of a ECU programmer

->Restore FEM/BDC system, supply battery to the car and connect via OBD

3: programming

->This step need to be done on the BMW FEM/BDC test platform;

->Make sure that Step 1 & 2 is finished

->Connect FEM/BDC system to power supply and connect to the OBD port

4: restore EEPROM data

-> disassemble FEM/BDC module, write original EEPROM data (Step 2) into chip 95128/95256

-> restore FEM/BDC system, connect to OBD

5: restore coding data

-> load the backup coding files (Step 1), restore coding information via OBD

6: pre-processing is complete.

Step 3: make a dealer key

1: Lonsdor K518ISE Programmer read out data, select the will-be key position

2: a ”used”key to make a dealer key

All keys lost: enter 32bit ISN codes to make a dealer key

3: put the key near the car immo induction loop

4: detect the original key, read out immo data

5: put a new key near the car immo induction loop

6: detect the key key, key learn (don’t move the key, keep stable)

7: key learn is complete

Step 4: disable the key

1: Lonsdor K518ISE read out data, select the key ID position to disable

2: put a ”used” key near the car induction loop

3: K518ISE system tries to connect to CAS, disable the key with current ID position, disable key successfully

Step 5: enable the key

1: Lonsdor K518ISE read out data, select the key ID position to enable

2: put a ”used” key near the car induction loop

3: K518ISE system tries to connect to CAS, enable the key with current ID position, enable key successfully

Step 6: delete the key

1: K518ISE read out data, select the key ID position to delete

2: read FEM/BDC key password

1: You must read key info before everything you’ll do

2: to pre-process FEM/BDC, you should pay attention to:

- backup coding codes to continue

- disconnect to the power supply/battery, have a ECU programmer to read EEPROM data, up load data in K518 customfile folder, read new EEPROM data loaded just now, generate service-mode EEPROM data, read service-mode EEPROM data, write data into the chip, install CPU on the car

- ECU programming: need 6 min, with power supply connected

- disconnect to the power supply, disassemble CPU, write the original EEPROM data into the chip, install CPU on the car, connect to the power supply, make sure communicate is successful

- upload coding files (Step 1), restore original coding info to pre-process, then make a dealer key

3: 32bit ISN codes is required to program a new key when ALL KEYS ARE LOST

Lonsdor K518ISE program new Renault keys (All keys lost)

Renault key programming manual (using Lonsdor K518ISE)

Purpose: Program new keys to Renault cars (when all keys are lost)

You need:

tools to disassemble the anti-theft/immo box

VVDI-Prog to read EEPROM data

Lonsdor K518ISE to program keys

THE MOST IMPORTANT NOTE:

1you can directly program a new key to pre-2010 Koleos;

For post-2011 Renault models, you need disassemble the anti-theft box to first read the backup EEPROM data, then program keys (when all keys are lost)

2"Anti-theft system 2": generally only for Koleos.

if it fails, go to "anti-theft system 1"for cars before the 2010 year (password advice:first select Group 4)

"Anti-theft system 1": for other Renault models

Incorrect password:

If the password is wrong, please turn on the ignition and wait for 1 minute or so to try another group of password again. The error message is "login failed" or "system does not support login operation".

Megane password advice:first select Group 2;

4 Load.bin file into Lonsdor K518ISE:

use the USB cable to connect the K518ISEand the computer, find out and open internal memory of the K518ISE device , put the.bin file in the the folder "customfile" .

NOTE: .the bin file suffix "bin" must be lowercase;

the file directly into the folder (DO NOT create a new folder)

How to do:

Part 1: match the smart card

1 press the start button, open the driver door;

2 the system tries to get the password

if the model can be read out, please select the password. If the vehicle password cannot be recognized, please read EEPROMdata and put it into Lonsdor K518ISE. Then do as follows:

① with the USB cable to connect Lonsdor K518ISE programmer to the computer, the computer will display K518 host internal storage;

② copy the .bin (lowercase) file of CPU data to the Lonsdor K518ISEhost's customfile directory;

③ return to the smart card match operation, select the import file for secret read.

3 insert the smart key need to match . the first key match is completed; please follow the pop-up to continue to match another keys;

4 remove the smart key if you do not continue to match keys

Renault key programming is complete.

Step 1: Remove BCM

Disassemble BCM immo box and find CPU chip XDT384

Step 2:VVDI Prog read EEPROM data

Open VVDI-Prog software

Select Renault-BCM-XDT384

Follow vvdi programmer wiring diagram to connect

Read eeprom data and save data to bin format

Connect K518 host with laptop via USB cable

You will see ”customfile” folder on K518 software

Copy the eeprom bin file to ”customfile” folder

Step 3: Lonsdor K518 program Smart Key

Re-install BCM from car

Connect Lonsdor K518 key programmer with vehicle via diagnostic socket

Select Renault->By System->Smart Key->Immobilizer system 2->Program smart key

Press on the Start button, press YES to continue

Open the door on driver side

Lonsdor K518ISE shows unable to identify pin code automatically.

1.Connect K518 host with laptop via USB cable. You’ll see ”customfile” folder

  1. Copy eeprom bin file to  ”customfile” folder
  2. select eeprom bin file on  ”customfile” folder

Select Renault BCM data.bin

Insert a new smart key to be programmed into the card slot

Part 2: start the collision recovery

If there is a car crash, the system will automatically start the protection program. and after repair, you need to first release the protection to start the vehicle.

Tech 2 scan tool review: everything worked

I just received my new Tech 2 scan tool a few days ago. There are quite a few people now ordering these scanners to do diagnostics on there 2005-2012 C6s, so I thought I would show you a product I found to store your new scanner. I ordered my scanner without their plastic storage case because their case looked pretty cheap and was an extra $35.00.. If any of you guys or gals have a Tech 2 scanner and need a case , I found one that fits the tool perfectly and is way better looking then the companys case.. I picked this one up at Harbor Freight for $24.95.. Included are both dividers for separating the items, and foam that can be cut to hold the scanner and wires… I used just the dividers because the fit was perfect. The inside of the case is also fully padded , so drops or bumps won’t hurt the scanner, the outside is made of aluminum with reinforced corners…This is a great deal for the money …WW

Update: I haven’t had much scan time with it so far.. I did hook it up to my car and make sure everything worked… I have used the GM Tech 2 made by Bosch and this seems to be every bit as well made as that unit… I paid $289.00 at a company called (chinacardiags ) ,it took about 10 days to receive the scanner , and it comes well packed and the packaging is pretty much crush proof… I got free shipping on mine, but it looks like they are charging shipping now but have dropped the price of the unit a few dollars..The nice thing about this site is you can use Paypal to pay for it instead of a charge card…….WW

How to choose the right car key cutting machines?

Car key cutting machines depend on budget and on how many keys it will cut a day , some machines are light use , some are medium use and some are heavy duty use , some are better suited to the back of a van than others , some are built to last for ever , some are start up machines with limited life.

I have 4 cut to code machines

Xhorse ikeycutter condor: it's ok but has bugs and issues and build quality suggests it's not a long term machine , it miscuts some and plays up sometimes , but is a good machine for its cost , but for me its a light use back up unit.

Miracle A6 : light use machine in my opinion , reliable and cuts an accurate key , has a few miscut issues but not many and has proved reliable and well suited to mobile use .

Ninja Laser : medium use machine , cuts perfect keys and is well supported , seems happy on back of van , quality reliable machine that will last

Silca Viper : heavy duty heavy use machine , good on van but big and heavy , mines cut 25000 keys and is still as good as new, cant fault it at all

with machines you must remember that the more they make it do , the less robust it seems to become , I can't see futura cutting the keys that my viper has and still be alive let alone pristine , so a heavy duty specialist machine will last longer , hold its value more and have a higher resale value .

miracle a5 is a decent machine , but had bugs and issues , is no longer updated or supported , but really cheap at present and a good starter machine for light use.

bd laser is another decent machine that stood test of time and well suited to heavy use

Cant fault , miracle a6 , ninja laser or silca viper as all have done me proud , all paid back and some , and all still going strong , if i had to pick a favorite it would be ninja laser or viper .

like with anything , with a cut to code machine you get what you pay for , you pay cheap you normally get cheap , its a major investment and crucial kit that needs to work to pay back , the better the machine the more reliable and better it will pay back , in my experience you cant get better than keyline or silca , they are the rolls royce of machines , my viper is 12 years old and i could if i sold it still get nearly what i paid for it back then , good machines hold resale value far better .

miracle A6 in my opinion its a light use machine , but a decent one.

if i was buying again , id buy either ninja laser or Xhorse ikeycutter condor, good for the money.

How to use SKP1000 to disable 2011 BMW CAS4 523 Smart Key with

skp1000 key programmer can disable/enable key for BMW and Mercedes. we show you how to disable smart key on a BMW CAS4 523 year 2011.

Key information:

Original key: 4-button smart key (full keyless)

Frequency: 315MHz

CAS type: CAS4

Device to disable key: SKP 1000 tablet auto key programmer

Note: SKP-1000 will enable/disable BMW Benz smart key, but not able to program new key. For BMW, Mercedes key programming, please choose specific tools, i.e VVDI2 BMW and VVDI MB BGA Tool.

Procedure:

Connect SKP1000 host with vehicle via diagnostic socket

Select BMW car brand

Turn ignition ON

Select Enable/Disable CAS4 key

Confirm information. Make sure your car has CAS installed.  Otherwise smart function will lost, and you must attach key to Start button to start car

Select Read Key ID

all keys enabled

Read original key chip ID with JMD handy baby key copy machine

Select Disable key function in SKP1000 key programmer

Enter key position you want to disable key

The key is working key, are you sure to disable it?

Press YES to continue

Attach the key on the car steering steering column

Disable key success

Check key ID

Key 2 has been disabled.
